Becoming Muslim

Welcome and Reassurance

Welcome to new converts/reverts that have just taken their Shahadah, people who are curious, and people who have been Muslims, Alhamdulillah !

Arabic Shahadah

The most common full wording is:

أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدًا رسول الله

Transliteration (pronunciation guide, not inside tags):

Ashhadu an la ilaha illa Allah, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah.

English Meaning

A clear, simple English translation is:

“I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

If you can, it’s best to take your Shahadah with Muslim witnesses (Allah Knows Best). You can find witnesses at your local Masjid or online (God willing).

Allah is Most Merciful and that growth is gradual, not instant perfection.

Questions, doubts, or struggles are normal and not a sign of weak faith.
